My cross cultural experience:
I will be going to Guatemala and the U.S./Mexico border during this coming spring semester for my cross cultural. I will spend my semester living with a host family, improving my Spanish, and studying immigration issues. I can’t wait!
My favorite campus activity:
I love going to the movies sponsored by CAC on the weekends and also attending the various events that happen in the Common Grounds coffee shop.
My favorite class at EMU (and why):
Definitely Social Work Practice 1 because it has taught me so many practical things that I will be able to draw on in my future career as a social worker. Abnormal Psychology was another favorite of mine.
My favorite EMU memory so far:
My favorite memories at EMU are the times I have spent hanging out in “the woods” with my friends.
My favorite intramural season:
Volleyball!
My favorite reason to get off campus:
To go out to eat with my friends!
My favorite residence hall:
It’s a toss-up between Elmwood and Maplewood…both are great!
The most surprising thing about EMU:
I was amazed at how quickly EMU began to feel like home to me even though I am really a long way away from home. Now that I am in my third year, I have really become a part of the EMU community. EMU is definitely my home away from home.
