My cross cultural experience:
I have not yet had the oppurtnity to go on cross cultural, but i am really looking forward to it. I want to go on the India cross cultural that will be happening again in two years! I have heard so many great things from friends and relatives who have gone on cross culturals through EMU, and I can hardly wait to have that same experience!!
My favorite campus activity:
My favorite campus activity would have to be Celebration. Celebration occurs every Sunday night at 9:00 pm in Martin Chapel. It is a student led time of singing and praising God with other believers on campus. The songs are uplifting and it is a great break from the normal studying that occurs on Sunday evenings. I always feel recharged and encouraged after an hour at Celebration!
My favorite class at EMU (and why):
My favorite class at EMU has been my Developmental Psychology class taught by Judy Mullet. Because Psycholology is one of my majors, I have to take many Psychology classes, which I love. Judy Mullet makes learning about the subject even more exciting as she uses teaching techniques that really bring it to life. Her stories and examples make learning fun and help me to better remember what I do learn.
My favorite EMU memory so far:
It is hard to choose my favorite EMU memory so far. There are so many fun things that are always going on, whether campus wide or within your hall. My favorite memory is climbing the EMU hill late at night with some friends to star gaze. I saw four shooting stars and learned so much about my friends and their lives! Many of my other favorite memories just involve spending time with my friends. It doesn’t matter if we are talking for hours, watching a movie, or just acting crazy, we always seem to have a ton of fun! I know that the friends I have met here at EMU are going to be friends for life.
My favorite reason to get off campus:
My favorite reason to get off campus is either to go out to eat or to go hang out at Barnes and Noble.
My favorite residence hall:
While I may be biased about this, Maplewood is probably my favorite dorm. I lived there last year as a freshman and this year I am a Community Advisor there. The people are so energetic and fun that living in Maplewood is just an awesome experience!
The most surprising thing about EMU:
I think the thing that surprised me most about EMU were the people. I knew when I came here that I would meet some great people, but I did not expect everyone to be so kind and friendly. The minute you walk on campus it feels like home. People are always there to encourage you both intellectually and spiritually. I truly feel that everyone I meet at EMU cares about me, and that is a great feeling!!
