My cross cultural experience:

My cross cultural experience happened even before I came to EMU. I was born and raised for 15 years in another contry (Costa Rica) which makes my stay here in the U.S my cross cultural, so I am not requiered to do a cross cultural here at EMU, but I would like to experience anothe one…we’ll see what happens…I am thinking India perhaps : )

My favorite class at EMU (and why):

So far I would have to say that my favorite class has been my General Chemistry class! I know…it’s weird, but I like chemistry : ) The material is very interesting and the proffesor makes it a whole lot of fun in lab as well. It’s hard having to pick a favorite class because I usually pick the one where the proffesor makes me feel welcome and is willing to help anytime, but here at EMU all of the proffesors are willing to help and welcoming, which makes my decision be based on the subject i like the most : D

My favorite campus activity:

I love going to home games, it does not matter if it’s soccer, baskletball, voleyball; I enjoy seeing school spirit at games! I also like to take a break from studying and go to Common Grounds to relax with my friends.

My favorite EMU memory so far:

I have had many GREAT memories here at EMU, but the memory of the time when I first met my roomate freshman year was priceless. We had never seen eachother, she is from Florida and I live in Virginia, we had talked on the phone twice. I was nervous and hopeful for a good relationship. God blessed me with a wonderful friend I could not say enough about that first day we saw each other. Now we don’t live together because of our leadership possitions, but we live right across from each other and still enjoy each other’s company!

My favorite intramural season:

I have participated in two intramural sports, indoor soccer and flag football. Our flag football team was awesome last year! We won the B leage championship…too bad our indoor soccer team did not have the same luck : ( I got to meet a whole new group of people which now I still have friendships with.

My favorite reason to get off campus:

Hummm…my favorite reason to get off campus is to visit my family and/or to visit my boyfriend who goes to a different college : ) I also enjoy going back home and playing soccer with my friends : )

My favorite residence hall:

NORTHALAWN!!!!! I love northlawn…not only because it is very nice…lol, but also because it’s ALL girls and I don’t have to be careful AS MUCH when I get out of the shower during quiet hours. : ) Not to mention I love the girls on my hall : D

The most surprising thing about EMU:

I think that to me the most surprising thing at EMU is that there are not as many Mennonites as people think. There is an awesome variety of denominations and even other religions. Also people from different countries and backrounds…I enjoy other cultures and I love living in such a diverse environment!
