Why I came to EMU

After starting out at another university, I knew I wanted a smaller Christian school that was true to its roots. I chose EMU specifically for the challenging academics and unique cross-cultural opportunities.

Favorite things to do in Harrisonburg and surrounding areas

I love going to explore the local national parks with friends. I see the entire Shenandoah Valley as an extension of my backyard, and it is a beautiful area to hike, bike, or even drive. The occasional day trip to DC or Charlottesville is a great way to spend a Saturday, and I also love the downtown dining options in Harrisonburg.

Favorite EMU memories

Hands down the best three months of my life took place in South Africa and Lesotho during my cross-cultural semester.

What some of my friends are up to at the moment

Working for local companies Rosetta Stone and Dynamic Aviation, public accountant in town. Police officer in Virginia Beach, service work in San Francisco, Colombia, and various destinations across the globe, social workers, teachers, and nurses around the country.

Is there anything else you should know about me

I love playing music and was in a couple different bands throughout my college years!
