Cross-cultural
All students take part in cross-cultural study, living and learning in another culture. Most study a full semester in another country or region like the Middle East, India, Central America or Africa.

Most EMU professors have experience living and working in other cultures, usually outside the United States. Several have been Fulbright Scholars.
Diversity
Dozens of denominations and faith traditions, and more than 30 nationalities, are a part of the EMU family. About half of undergrad students are Mennonite.
Graduation rate
In 2009 EMU ranked competitively in a national study of graduation rates by the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research.
Placement rates
98% of EMU graduates are employed (working, engaged in service or in further study) within 12 months of graduation. Nearly 90% of those are employed within their field of study.
Medical school acceptance
Over the past 10 years, more than 90% of students who completed EMU’s pre-med program were accepted into medical school, compared to the current national average of 46%. Acceptance rate for all health sciences – veterinary school, dental, etc. – is also above 90%.
Education employment
Nearly 100% of teacher education program grads who seek teaching positions are employed within six months of graduation, year after year.
Nursing graduate pass rate
92% of EMU nursing graduates passed their state boards (NCLEX-RN) on the first try in the last three academic years.
