Hesston College Transfer Students
Eastern Mennonite University (EMU) and Hesston College recognize the need to facilitate the transfer of students from Hesston to EMU as they pursue their educational goals. Students completing an associate of arts or associate of science degree will satisfy EMU Global Village (general education) requirements by completing the following:
- one Bible/religion course from a category designated as “Christian Identity and Witness.” This upper-level requirement may also be satisfied by any Hesston 3-credit course from the “Biblical Studies” or “History and Theology” course offerings, with the exception of Biblical Literature (which already satisfies an EMU lower-level Global Village requirement.)
- the 9-credit cross-cultural requirement. All or part of this requirement may be completed by transferring appropriate courses from Hesston.
- SRSEM 401 Senior Seminar (2 credits)
Hesston grades are not calculated into the EMU grade point average. Grades of “D” will transfer, but are subject to the same limitations that apply to “D” grades earned at EMU.
Students graduating with an associate in applied arts and sciences degree will have their courses evaluated on a course-by-course basis.
