Come Visit EMU During Virginia Private College Week 2004!Virginia Private College Week, July 30 - Aug. 4, 2007

You wouldn't buy a car without first taking it for a spin ... the same goes for college.

Check out the residence halls, libraries and computer facilities. Visit the labs and arts and athletic facilities. Scan student newspapers and bulletin boards for campus culture and fun. Learn more about cross-culturals, spiritual life, and campus organizations.

Let your eyes, ears, and feet discover everything that waits for you in the heart of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley!

To Participate:

High school students who visit four of the 24 participating Virginia private colleges during the week of July 30 through August 4 will receive three application fee waivers, at an estimated savings of $100.

Campus tours during Private College Week begin at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. and include informational sessions on admission application, financial aid eligibility, and curriculum overview.

  1. Pick up a passport at the first college you visit, after completing the tour.
  2. At the end of each tour, have the college stamp your passport.
  3. Mail your completed passport to the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV) to receive your fee waivers.

Visit www.cicv.org to see the complete list of the 24 participating private colleges, and remember that students from Virginia attending a CICV institution in 2007-08 are estimated to receive a Tuition Assistance Grant of up to $3,200.

After the week is over?

The college campuses you visit may start to run together. You may not remember which one had the cool fountain on the quad or even what the dorms looked like. But you'll finish your first round of college visits with some favorites, like EMU, and we're ready to answer your questions and help you apply for admission!
