Eastern Mennonite University has released the schedules for its fall athletics seasons. The men's soccer team opens the sports year on the same day as the first day of classes by hosting Shenandoah on Tuesday, Sept. 1. The men's basketball team recently added another weapon to its budding incoming class when Broadway native Luke Holloran decided to transfer in for the 2009-2010 season. Holloran, who was named the Massanutten District Player of the Year as a senior at Broadway in 2007-2008, spent last school year as part of the football program at Division I Virginia Military Institute. Danielle Rittenhouse, a 5-7 guard from Lampeter-Strasburg High School, Pa., has committed to the EMU women's basketball team for the 2009-2010 season. She helped lead Lampeter-Strasburg to a 29-4 record and the school's first-ever berth in the PIAA Triple-A state championship game. (Jun 19) [More]
