Royals Get First National Bid, Host Games This Weekend
For the first time in school history, the Eastern Mennonite University men's basketball team received a bid to play in the NCAA D-III National Tournament. Even better, the Runnin Royals will also host a pod of games the first weekend, giving fans another chance to see the men play in Harrisonburg.

EMU (22-4), which lost in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference semifinals Saturday, received an at-large bid to the tournament and will play Centre College from Danville, KY, on Friday, March 5, at 8:00pm (*this is a change in time*). The Colonels won the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference and finished the season 18-8. This is their 13th overall national appearance and fourth straight.

Eastern Mennonite will also host Wilmington (OH) (21-7) and Lycoming (21-6) in a first round game Friday at 5:30pm. Wilmington College won the Ohio Athletic Conference and the Quakers are also making their first-ever appearance in the national tourney. The Lycoming Warriors finished as the runner-up in the Commonwealth Conference and are making their fifth trip to the tourney.

The two games Friday will be treated as separate games with separate tickets. Yoder Arena will be cleared between contests that night. The winners of the two games will then play each other Saturday evening at 7:00pm.

All four nationally-ranked ODAC teams made the national tournament, with tournament champion Guilford also hosting a weekend pod of games.
