Eagles Breeze to 11-3 Baseball Win Over Royals
Bridgewater College scored in each of the first four innings in building a 9-0 lead and went on to defeat Eastern Mennonite University 11-3 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference baseball game on Wednesday afternoon in Bridgewater, Va.

Bridgewater improved to 15-11-1 overall and 8-3 in the ODAC. Eastern Mennonite fell to 9-15 overall and 1-7 in the ODAC.

Sophomore Ricky Read got the start for the Eagles and improved to 4-0 after allowing two runs on just two hits in seven innings on the mound. He struck out eight EMU batters. At the plate, Read was 2-for-5 with one RBI and three runs scored. Sophomore left fielder Justin Showalter was 2-for-5 with a home run. Junior first baseman Kurt Walling was 3-for-4 while senior second baseman Tracy Wager was 2-for-4 and scored two runs.

Junior Drew Cobb took the loss for the Royals, dropping his season record to 2-2 overall. He allowed nine runs on 12 hits in six innings on the hill. EMU collected just five hits but did receive a home run from senior second baseman T.J. Frazier.

EMU will travel to Emory & Henry College on Friday for a 1 p.m. ODAC doubleheader.
