The Wild Geese Concert

Members of The Wild Geese all met as teaching musicians in the Charlottesville and University Symphony Orchestra from the McIntire Department of Music of the University of Virginia long before forming this baroque ensemble several years ago. Members include Nancy Garlick, recorders, Susan Black, violin, Content Sablinsky, harpsichord and Lynanne Wilson, cello. The Wild Geese have performed many concerts in central and western Virginia, including the Culpeper Music Society, the Orange Music Society, Barron Ridge Winery, P. Buckley Moss Art Gallery, The Coffee House Music Series at Rockfish Community Center in Nelson County, and in Martin Chapel of Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg. In their hometown of Charlottesville, they have recently performed at The Bach’s Lunch Series at Christ Church, Westminster Presbyterian Church, Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge, the Wednesday Music Club, Keswick Country Club and University Village.

The Geese specialize in themed concerts of Baroque music, which have included The Music at the Court of Frederick the Great (or, Bach meets Frederick), Casanova in Venice, Music of Versailles, Purcell’s London and most recently The Wild Geese Fly Away.

This concert will benefit the 24th annual
Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival, June 12-19.
