Deborah Marr, Sc.D., OTR/L
Deborah Marr, Sc.D., OTR/L

Sensory Processing Disorders (SPD) are disabling responses to sensory input that can negatively affect the everyday lives of many people. They are commonly found in individuals with Autism and Learning Disabilities, but can be present in almost anyone. This seminar will define and describe the various types of SPD’s, and give an overview of how they are treated clinically. Sensory Stories, a new treatment approach to the most common type of SPD, will be presented along with the outcomes of recent research on their effectiveness.
