Our Services
Career Counseling
Career counseling can involve many things from helping a student select their academic major to assisting him/her choose between employment or full-time service after graduation. Career interest tests can also be administered during these sessions.
Hands-on Internships, Work and Service Opportunities
Our office maintains the EMU jobs board and has close contact with local agencies offering service work as well as on-campus academic departments involved with internships and work-study positions.
Stduents can explore the nation's capital and get hands-on experience on the job at the same time. Dozens of internships, many leading to full-time employment, are available each semester in our Washington Community Scholars Center, an intentional community within the city staffed by two full-time professors. Many of WCSC students intern in culturally diverse settings, with organizations working to address racism, injustice, violence and other social problems.
