*For TESL licensure, students must take an English linguistics course and a specialized practicum to meet licensure requirements. A 14-week internship (7 hrs.) is required for candidates seeking TESL as an initial license.

The certificate is awarded through the Master of Arts in Education Program as an internal recognition for having obtained a focused area of coursework in conflict transformation and education. Candidates may complete 15 semester hours of the requirements below as part of their M.A. in Education degree program. Teachers who are not seeking a master’s degree may complete 15 semester hours of coursework for the peacebuilding certificate.
To qualify for the certificate in Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation in Educational Settings, candidates must complete 15 semester hours (SH) from the following courses. EDCC 521 is required.
