Giving Peace
a Chance

EMU's Conflict Transformation Program (CTP) may be tucked away on a small campus in a pristine valley, but its reputation has spread around the world.

The United Nations calls on CTP for help with training. The U.S. State Department selects CTP for the training of Fulbright scholars in conflict resolution. And CTP professors often travel to the world's hot spots to practice what they preach.

CTP, founded in 1994, is a three-legged stool. It includes a master of arts program, a Summer Peacebuilding Institute and the Institute for Justice & Peacebuilding. CTP builds on the Anabaptist/Mennonite peace heritage and the extensive Mennonite experience of service around the world.

What follows are two stories from persons involved in CTP and how they are working at giving peace a chance.

More information about CTP is available by calling (540) 432-4490, online at www.emu.edu/ctp or by e-mail at .
