Humble Tools,
Willing Hearts

Crossroads honors this year's alumni award recipients, inner-city nurse educator Marilyn Metzler and longtime radio evangelist Bill Detweiler.

Metzler is a 1992 graduate of Eastern Mennonite University. She spent three years as a nurse in the African nation of Somalia. For the past five years, she has coordinated the Lay Health Promoter Program of the Cross-Over Ministry Health Center in Richmond, Va.

Detweiler graduated from EMU in 1951. He has been a speaker on The Calvary Hour radio program for some 45 years and was pastor of Kidron (Ohio) Mennonite Church from 1957 to 1994.

In the articles that follow, writer Paul Souder tells their stories.

More information about the awards is available on the alumni award nominations page.
