Dr. Beryl H. Brubaker, EMU provost, will be the featured 2008 commencement speaker. Dr. Brubaker will retire in June, 2008, after serving 37 years at EMU in many academic roles.

A native of Belleville, Pa., Dr. Brubaker attended EMU for two years. Dr. Brubaker earned a B.S. degree in nursing from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition, she completed an M.S. in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania and a Ph.D. in nursing at the University of Alabama.

While at EMU, Dr. Brubaker has served on the nursing faculty, nursing department chair, directed SACS and ATS self-study. Prior to becoming provost, Dr. Brubaker served as vice president for Enrollment Management and Title III Coordinator.
