Duration 1 hour
Twomatizasyon ak Wozo is a three-year STAR trauma and resilience training program in Haiti that began in response to the devastating earthquake on January 12, 2010. In two years, Haitian trainers and staff have built a burgeoning network throughout the country; Wozo has provided week-long trainings for 800 participants, whose enthusiasm is driving rapid growth. Entering its third year, Wozo is shifting from disaster response to sustainable long-term peacebuilding. Daryl will share stories, learnings and challenges from his 11 weeks in Haiti: accompanying Wozo staff and providing informal coaching during a time of transition, assisting with M&E improvements, and exploring elements of Haitian culture that provide resilience — with a focus on the role of music.
Join us this Thursday, November 1 from 12-1 p.m. in Hartzler Library Room 121 for Daryl Snider’s Capstone Presentation. Hot drinks & cookies will be served, as well as some Haitian food for sampling!
