Christian-Muslim Relations in the Arab Middle East: The Long View of History

Dr. Jon Hoover, a leading Mennonite Islamics scholar and professor at The University of Nottingham, will be on campus October 15 to 17.
He will be doing a CIE forum on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 4:30 in Strite Conference Room on “Christian-Muslim Relations in the Arab Middle East: The Long View of History.” He will analyze the history of Christian-Muslim relations in the Middle East leading up to the present.

Jon spent a number of years in the Middle East, studying in Cairo, Egypt, and teaching at the Near East School of Theology in Beirut, Lebanon. His Ph.D. in Islamic Studies is from the University of Birmingham in England.

Jon is also prepared to speak in classes if requested.

We have reserved the East Dining Room at 6pm for anyone who would like to continue the conversation with Dr. Hoover over dinner.
