A Rainy Weekend
This past weekend (October 6 and 7) was cold, wet, and rainy. It started raining Friday and didn’t stop until Sunday morning.Despite the rain and cold weather, I had a fun weekend.
Some friends and I decided Friday evening that we didn’t want to venture out in the rain so we ordered in some Chinese food and had a picnic on the floor of one of the bedrooms while watching “Friends”.
Later on we went and saw “Laundry and Bourbon”, the play that was being performed by three EMU students. The play was supposed to be outside but because of the rain they moved it into Lehman Auditorium.Despite the change of location, the play was hilarious! It was about three southern married women who sat around and talked about their problems while drinking bourbon and folding laundry.
Afterwards we got a big group together, squeezed into a lounge, got all cozy and watched a movie. It was a perfect activity for a rainy night.
Still Raining on Saturday
Saturday I woke up early because I was helping out with the cross country meet.We arrived and got free doughnuts (yum!) and then were sent to our posts along the course to show the runners which way they were supposed to go.Despite being cold, wet, and having it rain on us the whole time, I enjoyed myself.(At least I wasn’t running in that weather!)
After arriving back at EMU, I headed to my bed to “thaw out” and take a nap.Later that evening a friend came to visit me from back home and we went out to eat with a few other people.Afterwards we came back and joined in on my hall activity of making pancakes and s’mores while watching a movie.
Because of the long day I had, I decided to not go to the late night roller skating that was being offered by the CAC, but friends who went said they had a great time!
Sunny Sunday
Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day!The sun came out and the weather became warmer. The Eagles played (and won!) and I had a great time visiting with friends. It was a great way to end a rainy weekend!
