Fall Fest Fun
Thursday night started our first campus visit. Some of my friends and I were lucky enough to get to host some kids. We had fun hanging out at common grounds, watching the intramural football game, and playing games.
It's Friday!
All day Friday it rained and everyone just seemed in a dull mood. Today was the day that fall fest started. The barn dance was that night but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go. At last minute I decided to go and got all dressed up and headed out with my friends.
The barn dance took place in Showalter’s barn with a live band and a caller. I can’t dance AT ALL but it was fun to go and pretend like I could. A bunch of my friends were there so we had a great time attempting to do the moves that the caller was telling us to do, as well as just making up some of our own. After two hours of line dancing it was time to head back to EMU.
A Beautiful Saturday!
Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day. The sun was shinning and despite the cold weather, it was still nice. Some of my friends went and watched the men’s soccer team take on Washington and Lee. I stayed back and cheered on the EMU women’s field hockey team.
After finishing up some homework my friends and I headed to dinner and then came back and got all bundled up for the night ahead. We started off by watching the women’s soccer team play against Lynchburg. Then we hopped on the hayride that was being offered and rode around the area while a tracker pulled us along.
CAC Fun
We came back and headed over to the Park Wood’s cabin. There they had marshmallows and chocolate to make smore’s with, as well as apple’s and candy to munch on. After eating some food some friends and I attempted to carve pumpkins. Of course everyone’s turned out nicely except for mine. (I guess I’m just not a very good pumpkin carver.)
Afterwards we headed to the science center where CAC sponsored the movie Monster House. Though it was supposed to be for little kids, my friends and I found it very funny. We came back and played Battle of the Sexes (which of course the ladies one!) and then I headed off to bed. I had to get up early to make an airport run Sunday morning.
It was a great and festive weekend and was a nice break of my normal routine.
