Back in VA!

Slowing Down

The excitement of traveling has come to an end for about three more weeks and it feels good to be back for more than a day and not have to worry about leaving again. The question is though, who would want to leave EMU when Virginia has been having this wonderful weather for the past few days; sunny and warm. Not only that but the leaves are turning fire red, burnt orange and yellow. I thought for sure that the sweaters would be coming out after last week but instead, I had to go searching for my short sleeves.

Oh, Kansas

After finishing all of the projects and papers that were due before Fall Break, I found myself in Hesston, Kansas. The extended weekend was wonderful and relaxing; that is what I was hoping for. Matt and I spent some time in Wichita, watched the Iowa game, had dinner over at his grandpa’s house, went to a Hesston soccer game and was able to spend some time with his friends which was great. It was wonderful to actually be in the same state for once with him and have a wonderful trip. I stayed with my friend Hannah Miller, who is actually from Harrisonburg, and I even got to spend some time with her too. Overall, it was an amazing trip and it was nice to see the flat land again.

The End of the Week

Now it is Friday again and it seemed like this week flew by which would normally be great except there were so many papers that were to be done at the end of the week and of course, there I was on Thursday working like crazy. I only procrastinated because of random things that came up throughout the week that I felt like I needed to participate in.

Late Night at IHOP

For instance, the girls went to IHOP on Wednesday night and we ordered some late night food. Wednesdays at IHOP are half price days so the place is pretty packed with college kids from EMU and JMU. I think we were all a little loopy that night; laughing at anything, staring off into space and just blabbing on like there was no tomorrow. I had missed last weekend when the girls went out for Kelly’s birthday so I felt like it was much too overdue. So, we went, had a great time and we were sadly exhausted by 12:30 so we returned to campus and finished the homework that still needed to get done. Those are my favorite nights here at EMU; going out with a group late at night unexpectedly, laughing, talking and escaping campus for a few hours.

Oh, one more thing: Happy Birthday Julie, Julie Stauffer! Hope you have a wonderful day.

be you
