Christmas Music in 60 degree Weather
Pre-Christmas Excitement
Lindsay and I were pretty thrilled when we were on our way back from our Taco Bell run last night and heard our first Christmas song on the radio this season. Sadly, we have been playing Christmas music in our room for probably the past month but we had not heard it on radio until then. We gasped as we heard Sinatra himself coming out of my speakers. Though, something was definitely weird about listening to Christmas music in the middle of November with the windows rolled down in 60 degree weather; we should be wearing scarves and commenting already how we wish it would be July. But the season is already here with or without cold weather; the cold weather will come soon but for right now I think we all need to enjoy and soak up the warm weather.
The time is coming to put up the Christmas tree; normally we would put it up during Thanksgiving but by the time we will get back from break it is practically December and then you only get about three weeks with it up; a person might as well just go for a good four to five weeks, I mean come on. So that is exactly what we are doing this weekend; putting up the tree.
Tomorrow afternoon Lindsay, Theresa, Kristina, Kaleb, Julie, Erin and I are going to be decorating our Christmas tree, eating various dips with crackers, drinking spiced cider and hot cocoa and listen to Christmas music. I am pretty excited to say the least; even though Christmas is more than a month away.
Mainstage, here I come…
Tonight I am going to see the play “Halcyon Days.” The production is being performed on mainstage here on campus and I am really looking forward to it. What is even better is that it is shown this weekend and next weekend too! I have heard only good things about it and I am definitely in the mood for a good dark-humor production. Going to a theatre performance on a Friday night is perfect entertainment; everyone, go and support the theatre and have a great time. Ok, that’s my plug; I am now getting off my soapbox.
What is happening to this semester?
I can not believe that it is already the middle of November; before we know it we will be going home for Thanksgiving and then when we come back, the papers, projects and exams will hit us hard. Then it will be all over; this semester will come to a close and before we have had any time to rest, the spring semester will begin and I imagine, fly by. This makes me think that we need to enjoy the time that we have here; I get so caught up with all of the excitement and activities but sometimes we just need to sit, get caught up and enjoy the moments that we have with our friends.
