Pumpkin or Egg Nog Ice Cream Anyone?

I have to admit something about Kline’s ice cream. Every time I go to Kline’s I am always excited about the flavor of the week but always seem to go back to the plain old vanilla one dip in a waffle cone. Well everyone, the day has come that I am going to branch out. I will be getting the flavor of the week tonight; I can not wimp out and go back to vanilla, it is not happening this time. Besides, pumpkin or egg nog sounds like delicious winners to me.

Roomate Tradition

It has been a tradition for the past few years for Lindsay and me to take each other out for each other’s birthday. Except there is a slightly different way that Lindsay and I “take each other out.”

Normally when it is someone’s birthday the friend takes the birthday girl out, but in our tradition the birthday girl takes the friend out. So there we were; sitting in Red Lobster eating all-you-can-eat shrimp and snow crab legs laughing and laughing. Then after all of the shanagans, I was fortunate to get the bill afterwards. It was great to spend time with her; you would think that since we live in the same room, we would see each other but it rarely happens so getting off campus gives us an excuse to spend time with each other.

TV Obsessions

There are certain days of the week where students here on campus go crazy for TV. Some days it is “Grey’s Anatomy” and other days it is “LOST.” There is usually not a problem unless there is more than one show on the same night and even worse, at the same time. Those are the nights where there are groups packed in each lounge of Elmwood watching “The Office”, “Grey’s” and “The OC.” It is so crazy that there are people who will go into the lounge a half hour before the show starts just to reserve the room for the next show. What is even crazier is when I am in my room which is practically at the end of the hall and can suddenly hear people yelling at the screen, “NO! DON’T GO IN…”

All I have to say is that I am looking forward to the new season of “Project Runway.” When it comes out I will be just as pumped as everyone else is about their shows. And all you will here from me yelling at the screen is, “Oh my word, look at that amazing dress…”

Grandma’s Mashed Potatoes and Iowa

The trip home is now less than a week away and I am finding it hard to concentrate on any sort of schoolwork. I am starting to think about seeing my family and especially my sister Elaine, putting up the Christmas tree at home while listening to Christmas music and hanging out with my best girlfriends from home, Liz, Midori and Lindsay. One thing that I can not wait for though, is my grandma’s mashed potatoes. It only furthered my impatience when she called me and asked what my requests were for food. After listing about four different foods and desserts she told me it was all possible. Now after all of that, how in the world am I supposed to keep my mind here in Virginia? I love VA but when it comes to Iowa and home, there is no competition at this time, where I would want to be. It probably does not help the competition that I have so many projects to finish before I leave either but they will all get done. Then before I know it, I will be home.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Let the people you love know that you are thankful for them. It will make their holiday.

be you
