Go Royals!

I just returned from the EMU-Goshen men’s soccer game and I am flying high with leftover adrenaline. The game itself was a lot of fun but equally important was getting to see such a huge crowd of students, faculty, and community members gathered in one place.

All of the open space on the bleachers, sidelines, and the hillside was completely packed!

Before the game I participated in a tailgating party out of my roommate’s van. Someone had borrowed a grill, someone else had carried a couch out to the parking lot, and still another person provided face paint. We weren’t sure at first if many people would join us in tailgating, but students just kept turning up!

The paint was a big success; I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many blue and white faces. It was especially rewarding to pick out which students had a little bit of my artwork on their faces.

My final assessment is that, although my homework was rather neglected today and, consequently, I will be very busy tomorrow, the evening’s festivities were well worth the time and I can hardly wait for the next game.
