I am on sabbatical leave from my teaching responsibilities at Eastern
Mennonite Seminary for the academic year 2001-2002. Our family has
accepted a one-year Partners in Mission assignment with Virginia Mennonite
Board of Missions with responsibility for leadership development in the
Jamaica Mennonite Church. You can share a bit of our journey by linking

Our home in Jamaica is on a mountain ridge on a spur off the main trunk of the Santa Cruz Mountain in the St. Elizabeth parish on the southwest part of the island.
We live next door to the Maranatha
School for the Deaf, an institution providing educational services
to young deaf Jamaicans.
The Jamaica Mennonite Church
which dates to 1955 is a conference of thirteen congregations located across
the island.
Palm Ridge Retreat,
located near the north coast resort town of Ocho Rios, is one ministry
of the Jamaica Mennonite Church.
Jamaica Scenes is an attempt to provide a window into the beauty of the island of Jamaica.
