You'll be surprised how affordable an EMU education really is. EMU students graduate with less debt than the national average, and some 98% of students receive financial aid. An average assistance package is $17, 350.
Our financial aid office works closely with families and students on the many options related to paying for college expenses: grants and scholarships, educational loans, work-study programs, and more. Donors also play an important part in affordability; the average student at EMU pays only 70% of direct costs thanks to generous gifts from EMU supporters.
Value of an EMU Education
EMU's six-year graduation rate, a commonly used benchmark for measuring the success of students, is much higher than that of other private colleges in the southeast. Seventy percent of first-year students who entered EMU in the fall of 2001 had graduated by the year 2007. The corresponding rate among private colleges in the southeast for the same period was 49 percent.*
And within one year of graduation, more than 90 percent of EMU graduates have found work in their field of study.
