"the weeks just fly by here"

Well, the first half of the semester has sped by. I can hardly believe it's almost time for Thanksgiving break! I spent fall break at my friend Rebecca's house; it was a great relaxing experience: I didn't get any homework done the whole time. It was nice to sleep in and not have to worry about classes for a long weekend.

Of course, I had a lot of catching up to do after I got back that cost me many hours of sacred sleep, but I eventually got it all done. Looking ahead at my homework load, though, it looks like it's going to be significantly harder next semester. Hopefully I won't get too overwhemled, I want to have plenty of time to have some fun! I went to a barn dance several weekends ago; something I have never been to before. It was a lot of fun, although it turned out to be much harder than I thought it was going to be. Even with the caller going through all the steps with us and showing us how to de everything, we were still bumping into people and losing our partners. The confusion just made it all the more fun, though, and it was even more fun to watch all the people who dressed up.

The weeks just fly by here, and I expect this one will as well: my roommate's birthday is this week, on November 11th. Several friends and I are already planning a party for her, which I'm excited about. Even with all the fun things going on, though, I am living for Christmas break right now. While I am having tons of fun and am truly loving it here, I simply can't wait to get home and see all my friends from high school. I miss the Oregon rain and the mountains the most I think.

Hopefully the second half of the semester will go by as fast as the first and I'll be home before I know it!
