New Adventures

Well, I just found out a couple days ago that I will indeed be able to go to Israel this summer on a missions trip! It's going to be so great... and yet it's so intensely scary at the same time. I know that the Lord is with me on this, and yet I've never been further than places like Mexico, or like the Bahamas on vacation. This is unlike anything I've ever done before, and I guess that's just part of the whole growing into yourself that I started when I first came to college.
Now, i'm not going to lie and say that everyone who comes to EMU will have some great adventure or experience like mine, but regardless of where life's journey takes you, I think you can have things like this to experience. I'm so happy I was lead to EMU, it's a really great place. No, it's not perfect. Sometimes my friends and I have arguements, and sometimes there is drama with people hurting one another's feelings. Yet with all that, we find out who we really are as people, and when you're able to reconcile those friendships, it makes it all the better. Such a close knit campus as this, it's kind of hard to just avoid someone, and it pays to be able to get along with others and work on your community building skills.
Apparently there are some prospective students coming in for tonight and tomorrow, and so they're serving ice cream in the commongrounds coffeehouse... I'd just like to say thank you right now to anyone who comes on prospective visits, you guys force them to give us ice cream, and that's why we love you. Well, that and we want you to come to EMU, but the ice cream never hurt either.
New experience I never would've had if I hadn't come to EMU: Eating goat meat in the caf, and liking it! Seriously, it's like they say, everything tastes just like chicken. It helps that the chef prepares it well, but I honestly can't tell it's any different from chicken or maybe even beef... no, more like chicken.
Well, that's enough from me, back to work and ice cream and everything else that makes college worth while!
