Last day of this town

August 23, 2005

One more day in Archbold. Tomorrow will be my last day of this town for awhile. Kacie, one of my best friends, leaves tomorrow morning for Grand Valley State University in Michigan. It was sad to see another friend leave...Kacie is the third goodbye:( I think we stood in her garage for an hour figuring out how we were going to finally say bye. We just kept thinking of things to talk about...I guess that means it's a good friendship! Tomorrow night will pretty much wrap up the goodbye ceremonies-they feel like ceremonies...we spend the whole night trying to have fun, but yet we know the whole time that it's almost time for goodbyes. Bummer. This summer, my friends and I kept a book of funny things we said and did, so tonight we read them all and laughed until we cried. Then we all made plans to email and call, and of course to get together at Christmas and Thanksgiving.

Tonight I also helped my friend Logan ride my horse for awhile...he rode it once before at my graduation party. Then tonight he came over and rode it again and I have to say it was pretty comical. He almost fell off:) As he left, I realized that it was yet another goodbye...and that kind of made me sad.
Today, my mom and I went to Toledo to buy some last minute things for school-an extra set of guitar strings, a flatiron,a few new clothes, a mirror, and some other stuff. My mom is getting anxious about leaving-I can tell. She keeps telling me about other parents who are having a hard time because their youngest kid is leaving for college. Then she reminds me that she is going to miss me even though I am the oldest and she has three others at home...and then she starts crying. I really think that it will be harder on them than me. I will have totally new experiences and people to meet and they will be at home doing the same old thing just with someone missing. That stinks for them.

be you
