Matthew Nyce, MA ’18
I am currently preparing for my second year of the MAC program, and my fourth year of graduate education. I come to the program by way of the Seminary, as a Dual Degree student. I completed my practicum experiences at Shenandoah Academy and through the Harrisonburg Batterer Intervention program.
I am working on my internship at the Harrisonburg Rockingham CSB as well as working in Judith Weaver’s private practice in Luray. I am also employed by the Harrisonburg Batterer Intervention program as a facilitator of a men’s group. I come from a public education and retail background, and am glad to experience a different side of vocation as a client-centered therapist.
Some of my interests are in narrative therapy, existential philosophy, and theology, and I see myself exploring the many intersections between them in the years to come. While I am looking forward to finishing my four year journey through graduate school, I have a deep appreciation for the MAC program faculty and staff, and I feel increasingly prepared for my future professional life.
