POSITION: Accounts Receivable Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience: Prior experience in areas related to accounts receivable preferred. Computer experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required. Background in collections is helpful.
Special Skills: Good communications and human relations skills, organized, detailed, motivated and able to cope with many interruptions. Working knowledge and experience in computer processing is needed. Ability to maintain confidentiality, available to work extra hours as needed, has the ability to maintain composure, and project appropriate attitude when dealing with difficult situations and must understand the dynamics of teamwork, and be able to participate as an effective team member.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for monitoring and collecting undergraduate accounts for EMU. This includes implementing EMU’s payment policies, monitoring past-due accounts, counseling students and families in financial matters related to payment of account balance, and working closely with the Financial Assistance Office to best serve students. This position is also responsible to review and post account receivable transactions and adjustments on a daily basis. This person will be cross trained in basic account receivable responsibilities and will assist other staff members as needed. Will be available to assist the cashier during peak times.
COMPENSATION: 12-month, .88FTE (35 hours/week) position. Remuneration and benefits commensurate with education and experience and in accordance with the office pay scale.
