POSITION: Assistant Director of Housing and Residence Life

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: A Master’s degree is required; preferably in a field of study related to student affairs and higher education administration.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years residence life experience. Live in experience preferable. Demonstrated competence in staff training, supervision, leadership training and ability to work effectively in a team relationship.

Special Skills:

  1. Must possess a clear understanding of the principles and purposes of student development and a firm commitment to student’s growth and development in a Christian university setting.
  2. Administrative and supervisory skills applicable to a university environment.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with student life staff, faculty, and other employees of the institution.
  4. Personal confidence coupled with a positive regard for others.
  5. Must be computer literate with word processing and spreadsheet competencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Director of Housing and Residence Life is responsible to assist the Director of Housing and Residence Life in providing a safe, secure, and comfortable living and learning environment which is conducive to a Christian lifestyle, the pursuit of academic excellence, and personal growth for approximately 550-650 residential students. The position includes responsibility for working with and supporting up to six Residence Directors. The Assistant Director will work with other residence life staff and the Director of Housing and Residence Life in a team approach to residence life management.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS : 11 month, part time (.50 FTE), Remuneration and benefits commensurate with experience and education and in accordance with the administrative pay scale.
