TOEFL Instructions

At Level II, the number and difficulty of TOEFL exercises will increase across the integrated Listening/Speaking, Writing, and Reading books. As the IT connectivity to Vietnam improves, this curriculum will add more listening comprehension features for TOEFL skill-building.

Now, let us begin at Level II. Drawing upon the IT skills you have learned, create a New Folder on your disk. Following these IT directions, name this folder by your given name, followed immediately by TOEFL. For example, using our sample name from above, this new folder will be named "huyenTOEFL." Within this folder, create a new Word document, and name it "UNIVI1," designating that this is your answer sheet for Level II, Chapter 1 exercises. Within this document, type three titles "UNIVI1W," "UNIVI1R," and "UNIVI1LS." These titles designate your answer key at this level for TOEFL Writing, Reading, and Listening/Speaking exercises. Beneath each title, add a column of numbers, 1-20. For example, your Listening answer sheet for Level II, Chapter 1 should look like this:

UNIVIL1

At the bottom of this list of numbers, type in the following:
__:20 correct answers
__ minutes; __ seconds; _____________ today's date.

As you work through the following twenty TOEFL exercises, which will draw upon the vocabulary introduced in this chapter, type in your answer (A, B, C, or D) beside these twenty numbers. Time yourself in this exercise. Write down at the end of this exercise the exact length of time it took you to complete these twenty questions, and note today's date. Your instructor will provide an answer key to you after all coursemates have completed the TOEFL exercises. You should then enter the number of correct answers out of twenty questions. Keep this record of your progress saved to your disk. You are now ready to begin.
