Broadcast Email Digest
The broadcast email digest system is a new way to distribute information to everyone, all-students, and non-students. You can now choose one of three ways to receive this information:
- Receiving individual email messages (no change).
- Viewing the new messages daily or more frequently in a shared IMAP folder (see below for details).
- Receiving digest messages periodically informing you of the new messages that have been sent (see below for details).
Note: If you choose option 2 or 3, you accept the responsibility to keep yourself informed on a daily basis of all new messages to the broadcast lists.
You can change your preferences using Broadcast Email Settings.
Please be aware that even if you choose option 2 or 3, minimal number of urgent messages will still go directly to your inbox. However, these messages will only be used for very important announcements.
About shared IMAP folders
For users of clients other than Outlook, you will need to subscribe to the shared mailboxes (folders) if you wish to view the messages in the boxes. They will appear as "broadcast.everyone" and "broadcast.non-students."
About the Digest
Digest messages do not contain the text of the original emails -- only the date, subject, and sender, along with a link to view the full message on the web. You can receive this summary every 3, 6, or 12 hours. No broadcast digest will be sent overnight or if there are no new emails.
