Listserv Lists
Faculty should be aware that Blackboard provides listserv-like capabilities for every class. Simply choose the class, then click Communication, then Send E-mail.

NOTE: After sending a broadcast message you will need to allow at least 15 minutes before you are likely to see your copy of the message arrive in your email mailbox. Depending on the load of the mail server and the number of names in the broadcast list it could take even longer. DO NOT re-send the message just because you have not seen your copy. Call the HelpDesk (x4357, 540-432-4357) if you suspect there may be a problem. Sending the message again will likely result in two messages going to all the addresses on the broadcast list you have used.
WARNING: There is a maximum message size limit for all EMU listserv email messages. Any message larger than 40 kb will NOT be delivered. If attempted, the message with the attachment will be "bounced" to the owner of the list and will not be delivered to the list recipients. In general this means that you cannot send attachments to EMU listserv addresses.
