Web Links to Non-EMU Pages Policy

Purpose

To supplement the information presented on EMU web pages, links to other web sites may be helpful. This policy provides guidelines and attached procedures.

Policy

EMU’s web site will provide links to other sites when the web content manager or curator discerns that the information provided elsewhere would enhance or further explain information given on an EMU web page.

EMU is not obligated to provide a link to any site that is considered objectionable or not in the interest of the goals and objectives of the university. The web content manager is the point of contact for processing external link requests.

Procedures for implementation of this policy will be developed by the Web Work Team (WWT) and followed by the web curators for use by the web curators and WWT.

Responsible Party

Web content manger and WWT. Any member of the EMU community may ask that links be considered for inclusion or exclusion.

Distribution

The policy will be posted as a link in the web policy section of the marketing services web page. The policy will also be distributed to web curators, the WWT, and cabinet.
