International Cell Phone Policy and Rates
Due to discrepancies between the rates EMU is charged for calls to land lines and cell phones in foreign countries, the IS Dept. has been forced to make a change in policy. It is commonplace in international countries to charge those who make calls to cell phones. Thus, when someone makes a call from our campus those added costs, plus any other fees involved, get passed on to us by our long distance carrier. We now reserve the right to charge users an additional fee for calls made to international cell phone numbers. We must do this to keep our regular international rates competitive. Please remember this if you make numerous international calls. The discrepancy between your phone bill from the end of the month and the additional charges could be quite substantial. The additional charges will be added to user accounts around the 15th of each month.
