Virus: MyDoom-O

Sophos has released information about a new, fast spreading version of MyDoom. Like other versions of the MyDoom family, this revision spreads via email and can provide malicious hackers with access to your computer. Our anti virus system will detect and stop MyDoom-0 but you should never open email attachments you're not expecting, even if the email claims to come from a friend or a support technician.

If you suspect that your computer may be infected with MyDoom-0 run the Sophos Anti-Virus program from your computer's start menu and perform a compete scan of your hard drive. If a virus is detected or if you have additional questions please contact the InfoSys Helpdesk at x4357.
