Our Students on Cross-culturals
Because of our emphasis on global themes, our dept mission aligned with EMU’s mission, and our languages, we have an inextricable link to cross-culturals, and our professors are invested personally in this value.
Guatemala & Mexico Spring 2012
CASAS/SEMILLA and the Spanish Institute of Puebla provide excellent staff and are responsive to EMU’s needs. Both places feature small classes with lots of practice in Spanish. In Mexico they spent afternoons exploring museums, churches and markets while conversing one-on-one with a local Spanish-speaking guide. 11 of the 19 total have declared Spanish minors. This testifies to their own comfort level with using the language.
