- takes responsibility for actions
- regulates personal emotions
- maintains collaborative, positive relationships with colleagues and those in authority
- holds high expectations for all students
Caring About Relationships in Learning Communities:
- considers multiple perspectives (listens actively, responds well to criticism or suggestions)
- promotes compassionate and just learning environments
- demonstrates passion/enthusiasm about learning and teaching
- values diversity (eager to work with persons from a variety of perspectives and cultural/ethnic groups)
- promotes advocacy for children and youth
Caring About Reflective Practice:
- makes decisions based upon reflection, research, and best practice
- generates and uses inquiry-based questions for creative problem solving
- uses critical thinking to self-assess, to evaluate progress and to set realistic goals
- engages in multiple perspective inquiry
- initiates action research for educational change
