EMU Sets Gospel Music Extravaganza

EMU will hold its sixth annual gospel music extravaganza 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, in Martin Chapel of the seminary building.
Area choirs will join EMU’s student gospel choir in presenting music of worship and praise. They include: UNCONDITIONAL from New York City, Joyful Noise from Washington and Lee University and the United Community Gospel Choir.
Admission is free; a free-will offering will be taken.
Prior to the gospel music program, the EMU education department will hold an "African-American National Read-In" with faculty and students reading excerpts from works by black authors. The event will begin at 1:30 p.m., also in Martin Chapel.
A full-course "soul food" meal will be available for $10. Tickets are available from EMU's multicultural services office and at the door.
