'Faithlift' at EMU

Carl Terry of Dominion Waterproofing, Richmond, Va., removes accumulated grime from the railing of Hartzler Library at Eastern Mennonite University the first week of August. Once completed, he plans to give the trim work of Northlawn residence hall and the EMU Campus Center a similar pressure treatment, one of numerous preparations that are now under way for the start of the Fall 2005 semester.

Faculty/staff conference will be held Aug. 17-18 with the opening inspirational session held at Massanetta Springs Conference Center east of Harrisonburg.

Student leaders will begin arriving for training sessions Aug. 19. First-year students are scheduled to move into residence halls Aug. 26, with a welcoming reception at 8 p.m. that day. University and seminary registration is set for Aug. 30, with fall semester classes beginning 8 a.m. Aug. 31.

EMU President Loren Swartzendruber will speak at an opening convocation at 10 a.m. The fall semester ends Dec. 16.
