Two faculty members in the teacher education department at Eastern Mennonite University have received special recognitions.Judy H. Mullet, professor of teacher education, has received the 2003 "distinguished Service award" from the Shenandoah Valley chapter of Phi Delta Kappa, a professional education society.
The award is presented annually to a Phi Delta Kappa member who has rendered distinguished service to education. Dr. Mullet was cited for "leadership in the advancement and promotion of education, for research and scholarship resulting in significant improvement of education and for exemplying high professional ideals." She has been an EMU faculty member since 1986.
Mark A. Hogan, professor of teacher education at EMU, was selected as president of the Shenandoah Valley chapter of Phi Delta Kappa for 2003-2004. Dr. Hogan joined the faculty in 1994.
