EMU Students Assemble Relief KitsEastern Mennonite University students Emily Miller,
Hartville, Ohio, and Chris Fretz, Mt. Joy, Pa., were among the volunteers
who helped assemble relief kits for Iraqi refugees on Apr. 14. EMU
students assembled around 30 kits containing 12 prescribed items -
mostly personal hygiene articles - donated by students, faculty and
individuals and businesses in the local community, according to Rus
Pyle, Student Government Association co-president. Each kit has about
a $40 value. The SGA helped coordinate the appeal over a two-week
period on campus. The kits will join others assembled by area Mennonite
churches for delivery to Mennonite
Central Committee's Akron, Pa., headquarters for distribution. Posted: April 15, 2003 |
