Ghana Honors CJP Alumnus

E. Bombande
Emmanuel Bombande, MA ’02, was awarded the Millennium Excellence Peace Award 2005 at a ceremony held in Ghana at the Accra International Conference Center.
The award recognized Bombande’s dedication “to using peace methods to ensure the co-existence of all in our society.”
Also honored at the ceremony was Kofi Annan, the UN secretary general.
Bombande is the executive director and co-founder of the West Africa Network for Peacebuilding (WANEP). He teaches and consults widely across West Africa.
Ghana’s registered voters choose the winners of the Millennium Excellence Awards from a short list of nominees. Awards are given every five years.
Bombande’s selection reflects recognition in his home country of his efforts to prevent conflict and build peace in the region.
