Recycling Opportunities

Papers:
YES:
*white or colored office paper
*newspaper
*envelopes
*manila folders
NO:
*glossies
*food wrappers
*window envelopes
*envelopes with metal clasps

Pickup by recycling staff on Wednesdays and Thursday at Utility Room of most buildings. Extra bins are provided at the end of each semester in residence hall areas.

Newspaper and magazines are collected on request. Place these in a papers bags or boxes and leave the container in your building's recycling area, or deliver them to the paper recycling trailer next to Physical Plant.

Remember to shred sensitive information!


Corrugated cardboard:
Gray bins are behind the cafeteria pine trees. You may also collapse boxes and place them in your building's recycling area. There are additional drop-off locations near residence halls on move-in days.

Please break down and collapse all boxes! Remember, no pizza boxes or other boxes containing food particles.


Cans and bottles:
YES:
*#1 or #2 on bottom of bottle
*pop or soda cans/bottles
*milk jugs
*water bottles
NO:
*carry-out containers
*Styrofoam
*yogurt cups
*window glass

Mixed cans and bottles with 1 or 2 on the bottom are picked up by recycling staff on Wednesdays and Thursday at Utility Room of most buildings. Extra bins are provided at the end of each semester in residence hall areas. White or blue recycling bins for these plastics are in the Lounge and Residence Halls and are collected weekly.

Clean metals, like pallets and electrical wire
The recycling department cleans metals behind the Physical Plant building.

Batteries:
May be placed in the bin at Physical Plant garage entrance

Clothes, appliances, furniture:
Bins are provided at the end of each semester in residence hall areas.
