EMU's Vision for a New Science Facility

“Shamar” is a word we use as we talk about a vision for the sciences at EMU, including an updated Suter Science Center. It means to keep, protect, preserve, watch and guard.

EMU's Commitment to Creation Care

Long before sustainability became a buzz word in common culture, former president Myron S. Augsburger noted in 1968 that humankind had an important “position in the natural world” and therefore needed to meet the world’s needs through “competence” and “compassion.”

Today’s vision for the sciences at EMU is about interdisciplinary collaboration and integration of commitment to creation care in every aspect of programming.
