Your Spiritual Autobiography
FOR FIRST YEAR PARTICIPANTS
Write a paper that traces the narrative of your own spiritual journey and formation. It should be about 3-4 pages, double-spaced, although length is not crucial.
Reflect on those communities, persons, congregations, events which have been formative in shaping your own spiritual life and understandings of God, Jesus Christ, the person and work of the Holy Spirit, the scriptures. In what ways may these same communities and persons been less than helpful to your faith understanding and growth?
Describe how you learned to pray, and in what ways your ways of praying and practicing spiritual disciplines has changed over the years. What assists you now in your ongoing relationship and walk with God?
In what ways has your love and understanding of God (image of God) grown and changed for you?
In what ways is your walk with God drawing you into faithful service in the church and/or the world beyond the church?

You are invited to reflect on your growth as a child of God and as a spiritual companion.
Write a 2-3 page paper, double-spaced, which includes reflection on:
Inner growth: an updating of your spiritual autobiography.
What are your newfound strengths? Your growing edges?
Outer growth: the practice of spiritual companioning within your home-based ministry practicum. What are you noticing?
What are your emerging strengths, your growing edges, your questions?
How are you fed? What has influenced you, helped you grow, brought new insights?
Your journal, ministry logs and verbatim, readings, reflection on ministry and practice of spiritual disciplines will all be helpful to you as you write.
