EMS Cross-cultural 2004-05

A warm welcome to you to join us on this cross-cultural encounter with the Holy Land! Our tour, “Places, People, and Prayers,” offers you a rich and multi-faceted introduction to the land which has been home—and holy—to Jews, Christians, and Muslims alike for thousands of years.

The Sea of GalileeP L A C E S

Day by day we will visit important biblical sites, from Beersheba in the south to Dan in the north. And we will relive the story of Jesus as we walk the land that Jesus walked. But there is much more to the Holy Land than ancient stones.

P E O P L E

This ancient site is now home to two peoples, the Israelis and the Palestinians, caught up in an ongoing conflict over a common plot of ground to which they both lay claim. So we will also engage in regular People to People Conversations, putting us in touch with the many and varied voices of those who live in this troubled land.

P R A Y E R S

Through it all we will join our voices in prayer. Regular times of reflection, a daily service of Evening Prayers, and Sunday worship with Palestinian Christians will nourish our spirits along the way. Our tour will end with a retreat in Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee.

“Places, People, and Prayers” offers you a wide-angle lens through which to view the Holy Land, sense the heartbeat of its peoples, and "pray for the peace of Jerusalem."
